Employee of mining company allegedly attacks colleague

MARGHERITA, May 31: A heinous incident took place on Tuesday at ANE Mining Company Limited situated at Tirap Colliery where an operator med Tejender Singh, who hails from Punjab, allegedly attacked another employee med Nirmal Saikia from Dhemaji district with a sharp dagger. Nirmal Saikia was severely injured and was immediately taken to Central Hospital, Margherita and was later shifted to Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dibrugarh for better treatment. Prabaldip Gogoi, mining supervisor of ANE Mining Company Private Limited, said that from the last two months they had not got their salary so since the past two days they were on strike. Tejender Singh, he alleged, intentiolly attacked Nirmal Saikia with a dagger. Meanwhile, Ledo Police have taken Tejender Singh into custody.
