'Enemies want to divide Pakistan'

Islamabad, June 2: Enemies of Pakistan want to break up the country, Prime Minister waz Sharif said on Tuesday. Pakistan’s enemies were hatching conspiracies to weaken “our motherland since they cannot tolerate development and prosperity in the country”, Sharif told an all-party meeting in Quetta. “There are some who wish to make us fight amongst ourselves,” the Dawn quoted him as saying. Sharif did not say who Pakistan’s “enemies” were but Pakistani politicians routinely blame India for most of its interl troubles. The prime minister also said his government was committed to eradicating terrorism and extremism from the country. The All Parties Conference, which took place at the Governor House in Quetta, was convened to evolve a strategy against terrorism after the May 29 terror attack in Balochistan left 22 people dead. Pakistan Army Chief Gen. Raheel Sharif also attended the meet. (IANS)
