HOWRAGHAT, Jan 1: State Hills Area Development (HAD) Minister Kharsing Engti today thanked Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi for declaring Howraghat as new sub-division for the people Karbi Anglong.
While lauding the innovative step taken up by the Chief Minister, Minister Engti said that it was the longstanding demand of people of entire Howraghat and the historic demand has been fulfilled today in the regime of Congress under the dymic leadership of Tarun Gogoi.
Engti said adding that maximum development has been ensured in Karbi Anglong and for its people round the clock.
“The new sub-division declaration supposed to be a step forward towards the progress of Karbi Anglong. It is certain that people of Howraghat will forward easily towards the development after retaining the Howraghat as sub-division,” Engti said determinedly.
While admitting the infrastructure development stressed on sports, Engti rrated that in order to felicitate upcoming players’ numbers of proposals of luxurious projects have been submitted to the State government to upgrade the Pan Engti playground and as well the Howraghat stadium.
He further said that the Pan Engti playground will be constructed and moderated as football stadium. On the hand, the Howraghat stadium will be constructed especially as cricket stadium. Both the stadiums will be constructed and made available with required modern facilities for the sporting, HAD Minister added. At the end, Engti extended New Year wishes and greetings to all section of people and urged to co-operate government and maintain peace and tranquility.
