Itagar, May 1: The Anjaw district unit of BJP has demanded a high-level inquiry into the delay in implementation of the 16 mw Hydro Project at Halai Pani in the district. In a representation submitted to the Governor, the BJP unit alleged that sanctioned amount of Rs. Fifty one crores thirty seven lakhs) for the project was completely used, but the progress of the Halai Pani Project remains the same as it was during the initial stage. In addition to this, additiol funds were also sanctioned for the same project by citing several seasons and also by preparing the DPR thrice. The total amount sanctioned till 2012 for this project is Rs One hundred nineteen crores & eighty one lakhs thirty four thousand, the representation said. Only a portion of the RCC foundation not worth even a crore was washed away by landslide during June 2012, but it was shown that damages on the ongoing project had occurred several times due to tural calamities, the party further alleged.
