Ensure Our Victory In 12 Lok Sabha Seats: CM Sonowal To BJP Workers

Dibrugarh: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal while addressing BJP called upon party members to work with zeal and help party candidates to win their respective seats with a thumbing majority. He said the party should ensure that it clinches atleast 12 out of the 14 seats in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election and help Prime Minister Narendra Modi retain power. “Our aim is to make India strong and a prosperous country in the world”, Sonowal said to party workers who assembled here from three Lok Sabha constituencies –Dibrugarh, Lakhimpur and Jorhat.

The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, Power Minister Tapan Kumar Gogoi, Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah, Jorhat MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasha and Dibrugarh MP Rameswar Teli.

Sonowal further stated that the party achieved a spectacular victory in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls and grabbed power in the State due to the sincere and dedicated service of all the party workers.

Criticising the Congress party, the Chief Minister said the Congress during its 60 years of rule has becomes a synonym of corruption and anarchy, but BJP on the other hand during its 5-year rule under Prime Minister Narendra Modi showed the path of progress in all sectors ensuring social security to all section of the people.

“Our Government put more emphasis on welfare not only for indigenous people of the State but to all communities particularly Tea Tribes community,” Sonowal asserted.

Elaborating several welfare schemes of the State Government, particularly zero tolerance against corruption, the Chief Minister said the party is committed to serve the people. He also condoled the deaths of the CRPF jawans in Pulwama.

The meeting was also addressed by Party Provari of the North East, Mahendra Singh.
