DHUBRI: Many opportunities have opened up in Assam for budding entrepreneurs to flourish and these opportunities must be grabbed, said Deputy Director of NER, PHDCCI, SK Hazarika while addressing an awareness programme on National Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Hub (NSSH) Scheme organized in the conference hall of Diphu Circuit House recently. “Facilities like training, finance and marketing support are being extended like never before. So, please do not miss the train. Come and avail the support provided by the Central and State governments,” Hazarika appealed to the nearly 60 entrepreneurs who attended the programme.

The programme was organized by Assam Small Industries Development Corporation Limited (ASIDC), implementing the NSSH in Assam, in association with North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd (NEDFi) and with the support of the PHD Chamber of Commerce (PHDCCI). This is part of the initiative of the Ministry of Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME) targeted towards developing a supportive ecosystem for entrepreneurs.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Karbi Anglong, Junumoni Sonowal graced the inaugural function as chief guest while Assistant Director of MSME-DI, Diphu, Arun Diphoi spoke at a length on the various opportunities knocking at the door for entrepreneurs. “Public Procurement Policy 2012 for MSMEs mandates that Central Government ministries, Departments and Public-Sector undertakings procure minimum of 20 per cent of their (entrepreneurs’) annual value of goods or services from MSMEs. In addition, 4 per cent of total procurement of goods and services are to be made from micro and small enterprises owned by SC and ST entrepreneurs. Beside these, many opportunities are being provided to entrepreneurs. I appeal you to avail them and become competitive entrepreneurs in the days to come,” Diphoi said.
