Environment And Forest Minister Tackles Environmental Issues

GUWAHATI: Environment and Forest Minister, Assam reviewed, on 9 January 2019 in his office chamber, the problem of availability of earth for construction work of double track railway line New Bongaigaon- Goalpara- Kamakhya track. The Additional CS, Environment and Forest, PCCF and HOFF, GM Construction NF Railway and other railway officials attended the meeting. The Minister assured the Railway authorities that all hurdles related to the availability of earth will be sorted out and there will be full cooperation from the Forest Department.

Regarding construction of railway track tunnel near Deepor beel for safety of wild animals, the Minister also suggested to have a meeting between Railways, Forest Department, Wildlife Institute of India, and other agencies in the next week to solve the long pending issues.
