Ering calls for need-based modalities in centrally sponsored schemes

Itagar, June 8: Lok Sabha MP Ninong Ering has asked the District Level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee (DLVMC) of Upper Siang district to work out need-based modalities for successful implementation of various centrally sponsored schemes in Upper Siang. Ering, who is also the chairman of the committee while presiding over a meeting here on Tuesday lamented over the idequate internet connectivity in the area since data on such schemes are to be updated online. Deputy Commissioner Remo Kamki urged for taking up tangible projects for overall uplifting of village communities under these schemes, especially under BADP programmes where the involvement of PRIs should be a must, an official communiqué informed here. The PRI members urged for proper implementation of centrally sponsored schemes in consultation with them and also urged for cross-checking and verification of the schemes by the appellate bodies. Local MLA and Parliamentary Secretary (PHED&WS) Alo Libang stressed on selection of schemes on need basis and requested the PRI members to get themselves involved in successful implementation of such programmes. Earlier the Department concerned projected their achievements and up-to-date status of various projects being implemented under various schemes. Achievements and targets in the schemes, like Mg-NREGA, IAY, IWMP, RURBAN under DRDA; old age pension, disability pension, family benefits scheme, CM disability pension scheme under ICDS; PMGSY under RWD; ARWSP & Rural Sanitation and SBM under PHED; RGGVY/DDUGJY under Electrical dept & BADP schemes under DPO were highlighted and discussed in the meeting, the communiqué added.
