Estwick replaces Ambrose as West Indies bowling consultant

St John’s, May 14 : Former West Indies A cricketer Roderick Estwick has replaced Curtly Ambrose as the team’s bowling consultant. Estwick will join the squad for the upcoming camp which will start on Thursday. West Indies have a tri-series coming up next. Legendary fast bowler Ambrose had been with the regiol outfit for the past three years, most recently during their triumphant World Twenty20 campaign in India but the West Indies Cricket Board did not give a reason why he quit. “Roderick Estwick will join the technical team for the West Indies for the upcoming 2016 Tri-tion one-day intertiol series. Estwick is the bowling coach for the Barbados Pride Franchise, replaces bowling consultant, Sir Curtly Ambrose,” a statement on the board’s website stated. Estwick was head coach for the Barbados under 19 team which won three titles between 2000 and 2004. Additiolly, he toured extensively with the West Indies U-19s on tours in and out of the region and has participated in the High Performance Centre programme. Estwick played first class cricket for his country and had also featured in first class cricket for Barbados, Transvaal and West Indies “A” between 1983 - 1990. IANS
