Euphoria over Kamakhya Prasad Tasa’s nomination for Rajya Sabha in Upper Assam

JORHAT: Jorhat district BJP committee, including Sivasagar, Charaideo, Sonari, Nazira, Mariani, and Teok committees, has welcomed the Assam Legislature Party’s decision to nominate former Lok Sabha MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa for one of the two Rajya Sabha seats that will become vacant from June 14.

Crackers were burst to welcome this decision at Tasa’s home village Duliagaon and Hatigarh. Talking to this correspondent, Tasa said that his first priority would be to carry out developmental activities all throughout the State, especially for the welfare of the backward classes, by implementing the Central Government schemes and projects and more thrust would be given on doubling farmers’ income.

He thanked the people of Jorhat, Sivasagar and Charaideo for their cooperation and confidence in the saffron party and for voting Jorhat BJP candidate Tapan Kumar Gogoi who won by a huge margin.
