Excise raid in Joysagar

Joysagar, Feb 14: Sivasagar District Excise Department, with the help of the Joysagar Police, conducted a sudden raid against the illicit liquor sellers of entire Joysagar area. The team raided various hotels and dhabas in the NH-37 area. The team also raided Kalugaon, Civil Hospital area, Salaguri, Sundarpur and Ranghar Chariali area and seized about 320 litres of country-made liquor, five cartons of Aruchali liquor and other rcotic items. In this operation, seven illicit liquor sellers were also bbed by the team and five different cases have been registered against them in the Joysagar PS, sources said.
