Excise raid in Sivasagar

JOYSAGAR, July 18: The Sivasagar District Excise Department carried out a sudden operation against some illegal liquor sellers in and around Sivasagar town on Tuesday night and booked nine offenders. Nine cases were registered under 53 /A / (I) of AE Act 2018. Besides, the excise sleuths were able to seize illegal IMFL 7,260 litres, beer 10,300 litres, DPL 1,800 litres and country liquor 4,800 litres. The seized liquor was destroyed in presence of Sivasagar Executive Magistrate PJ Sarma on Wednesday, sources informed.
