Excise raids conducted

MARGHERITA, Feb 16: Margherita and Digboi Excise Circle on Thursday jointly conducted raids at different places under Margherita subdivision such as at Telkhad Basti, Dibong, Marghetita Railway line, Bahbari, Lalgola, Ledo and its periphery.
Total seven cases were detected and three persons were arrested under Assam Excise Act, 2000. Around 6,460 litres of fermented wash of liquor, six distilled apparatus and 70 litres of illicit liquor were seized. The extensive raids were conducted out after imposition of Section 144 Cr. PC on molasses by the Margherita civil administration in Margherita subdivision.
