Expecting solution acceptable to all: ULFA pro-talk faction

NEW DELHI: Talks between the Government of India and the ULFA are likely to conclude very soon. “Talks are going on in a positive direction. We’re expecting an early resolution of our demands,” said ULFA general secretary Anup Chetia. Chetia and three other members of the ULFA (pro-talk faction) – Shashadhar Choudhury, Raju Barua and Chitraban Hazarika – held another round of meeting with the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday. AB Mathur from the MHA and Pallab Bhattacharya from the Assam Government were present at the meeting.

Though none from the government officials agreed to divulge anything specific, sources said the talks went on at a cordial atmosphere.

“We’re expecting a solution which will be acceptable to everyone,” said Chetia.
