Extremist apprehended, pistol recovered

Golaghat (Dhekial), Feb 15:  On the basis of specific information, the 142 CRPF with the cooperation of Merapani police officials, apprehended an extremist from D Sector DAB area under Merapani police station on Tuesday.

According to 142 Bn. CRPF report, the extremist has been identified as Ramanuse Dhan (31), a resident of village Biypur under Merapani Police station of Golaghat district.

Under the supervision of 142 Bn CRPF Inspector GD Rajender Sigh, BL Mee AC (sector Commander of ‘D’ DAB) along with the police officials launched a joint operation on Tuesday in village Biypur. During the operation, the extremist was apprehended with one 7.65 auto pistol (made in Italy), one magazine and four live ammunition. Later, the extremist was brought to Merapani PS for further interrogation. The investigation is still under process.
