Faculty empowerment programme held in Assam University

SILCHAR, January 29: The Department of Business Administration of Assam University in collaboration with the Department of Education organised a week long faculty empowerment programme. The programme was conducted to develop and empower the teachers of the university and its affiliated colleges.

The iugural programme was held in the premises of the varsity. The Pro Vice–Chancellor of Assam University Prof. Debasish Bhattacharjee, Dean Prof. N.B Biswas, HOD of the Business Administration Prof. A. L Ghose, HOD in–charge of the department of  Education Dr. S. K Dutta, resource person cum trainer from Microsoft Ankit Agarwal, programme coorditor, Dr. Remith George and Deepjyoti Choudhury attended the programme.

The programme concluded with a valedictory session recently. Deepjyoti Choudhury said that this type of faculty empowerment programme is conducted in various universities across India under the banner of “SAKSHAM” which is a Microsoft initiative to give impetus to the tiol Mission of Education through ICT of Ministry of Human Resource (MHR) Development, India. The MHR launched the programme with an object to build connectivity and knowledge network among and within the  institutes of higher learning. The project ICT provides skills training to non IT faculty in universities and its affiliated colleges. The SAKSHAM programe was conducted for the first time in Assam University.
