Fake enterprise cheats public in the me of skill development

Agartala, July 25:    People of Kali Bazar area under Mohonpur sub-division of Khowai district have been hoodwinked by a bogus firm, cheating gullible people on the pretext of imparting training under the Prime Minister’s dream project of skill development.

The fake enterprise, Scholar Academy Educatiol Trust, accumulated a large sum of money from the villagers before closing its shutters.

The Educatiol Trust has stated functioning from a rented house at Kali Bazar. It collected money from a large number of women, assuring them that they will provide training under Prime Minister’s Skill Development project.

Apart from Kali Bazar they collected money from nearby villages like Tebaria, Rangutia, Berimura etc. The women were assured of imparting training in stitching, mobile repairing, and solar light repairing, to me a few.

They were attracted towards the project because of the assurance given by the firm of providing fincial assistance to start the self-employment projects after completion of the training.

They even duped the elected representatives of the local panchyat , assuring that several development projects will be undertaken for which the central government has already sanctioned money.

Suddenly, the people found that the office including its entire staff and the head of office Dipen Bahadur Gourun had disappeared. Later, even the owner of the rented house found that the cheque given for rent has bounced.

The people along with the owner of the house met the Sub-divisiol magistrate Subhasish Das and lodged a complaint against the bogus firm at the local police station.
