False Propaganda Regarding Closure of BSNL

GUWAHATI: In many media reports, it is published that BSNL is discontinuing its services as it is getting shut down by the Government of India due to its critical financial position. The report of closing down of BSNL is denied by Chief General Manager Assam Circle, Sandeep Govil. He said that it is clarified by new Minister of Communications Itavi Shankar Prasad that there is no planning of closing of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited but the proposal of revival of the P511 Is designing by Government of India. He further added that it is not only BSN1, all other telecom companies are facing a crucial time in the competitive market scenario. Despite its financial difficulties, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is continuously expanding its mobile customer base and the market share is increased from 9.53% to 10.72%.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited being the 100% Government owned P511 is always there to serve the nation. The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited Services are used to connect the Nasal affected areas and also the areas where natural calamity occurs. To improve various communication services in the areas like Andaman Nicober Island and Laksa deep Government of India is using the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited network only. More over the Bharatnet project using optical fibre network is also doing by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited under Digital India.

According to a press release, the news reports have unnecessarily tried to focus on the cloture of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, despite the government assurance of revival of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited. This is being publicized with the intention of migrating BSNL customer base to other private operators by vested Interest.

Sandeep Govil, Chief General Manager, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited Astam Informed that BSNL is committed to serve its customers in every situation and there is no proposal of closing its services. The Service upgradation is being done in various levels for the benefit of our esteemed customers. The 4G services are recently launched in Assam Circle which is increasing BSNL’s customer base. He further requested all the esteemed customers of BSNL Assam circle to keep faith in Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited and not to pay attention to the rumors spreading by some media reports.
