Farm gutted in Jagiroad fire

Jagiroad, April 6: A broiler chicken farm was today gutted in a fire that broke out due to short circuit here.  The fire broke out around 11 A.M today and it took fire tenders about one hour to douse the flames, police said.  Police claimed a major devastation was averted as the fire tenders prevented the flames from spreading to adjoining houses in the congested area.  The cause of fire could not be ascertained but the police have registered a case of fire by mischief, police said. Ajit Bordoloi, the owner of the farm said that the loss in fire would run into three lakhs of rupees.
