Farmer Suicide: Nanded Farmer kills self over defaulting loans

Aurangabad: The plight of farmers and the disheartening stories of farmer suicides continue to haunt the nation, as a 65-year old farmer hailing from Nanded district in Maharashtra set himself on fire, failing to repay a bank loan of two lakh forty thousand rupees.

The deceased farmer has been identified as Priyanka Ramana Balpilwad. He was a resident of Turathi village in Umri.

When Balpilwad was late at returning home after work, his family and relatives went in search of him. The burnt body of the farmer was found by his son and cousin in the field where he worked.

The police and revenue department officials later reached the spot and conducted the panchnama.
