Hamren: The Karbi Farmer Association (KFA) celebrated its 8th foundation day at Diphu Club on Thursday. The programme was chaired by KFA president Samsing Hanse. KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang was the chief guest. He said, “The KAAC has been introducing many schemes to help farmers improve their lives. Farmers are the backbone of our society and contribute greatly to the economic development of the region. We will issue land pattas to the people living in border areas soon to safeguard our land.”
In addition to this, CEM Ronghang revealed that the process for introducing organic farms in Karbi Anglong had started. He also that orange saplings would be distributed through KAAC during the growing season. Thekar Arnivang editor Longsing Teron said, “We should not just depend on the council for government jobs but will have to work hard to generate employment for others.” Earlier, the foundation day celebration began with hoisting of the organization flag by president Samsing Hanse.
