Fashion show on traditiol attire held

GOLAGHAT, September 24: A Manking Kebang and Mishing community’s traditiol dress fashion show competition was organized recently by Takam Misshing Porin Kebang (TMPK) at the district library auditorium hall, Golaghat.

A press release by Polash Loying, president and Tikheswar Morang, secretary of the organizing committee stated that a day-long programme had been arranged on the eve the traditiol dress fashion show competition. The flag hoisting was done by Monoj Bori, president of TMPK and memorial lighting of lamp by Rudra Morang, senior citizen of Golaghat. In the open session the project director of DRDA, Jorhat, Utpal Doley took part as chief guest and Deputy Director of Food and Civil Supplies, Harendra th Doley as special speaker. The meritorious students belonging to the Mishing community was felicitated in the meeting by TMPK and organizing committee. An art competition was also held among the students. The traditiol fashion competition started in the evening, in which more than 90 participants took part.

In A section of the art competition, the first prize was won by Prjakta Kakoty while Prasurjya Loying and Harshita Bora won the second and third prize respectively. In section B the first prize was won by Jathika Saikia while   Sidartha Kaushik Saikia and Ayushman Doley received second and third prize respectively. Other hand, the first prize in the fashion show competition was won  by Munmi Hazarika, second prize by Silpi Phukan and Debashri Bora and third prize by Debajit Morang and Smriti Rekha Pegu. All winners were awarded memento and certificate.
