Father and son die in road mishap

BONGAIGAON, March 26: A father and son died in a tragic road mishap that occurred in NH-31 at Manikpur area in front of Manikpur Anchalik College in Bongaigaon district on Thursday. The deceased persons have been identified as Priyanga Ray (22), lecturer in Anondoram Baruah Junior College in Bijni and his father Anil Ray (52), an employee of Assam Gramin Vikash Bank, Bijni Branch, and resident of Jakowapara in Patiladaha under Mnikpur PS in Bongaigaon district. They were going to Bijni in their Hero Hunk bike (AS-19E-1856) when a truck (UP-65-AR-8551) coming from the opposite direction knocked them down. They were taken to a nearby hospital where they were declared dead. The truck had been seized and the driver and handyman have been bbed.
