Fide Rating International Chess moves

GUWAHATI, July 8: Second Edition of FIDE Rating International Chess Tournament got under way today at the RG Baruah sports complex. Around 250 players from different parts of the country along with a few players from neighboring countries are taking part in the meet which is organized by the Chess Players Parents Forum. Subodh Malla Barua, the president of the Sports Journalists Federation of India inaugurated the competition which carries total cash awards of Rs 3 lakh. The champion will earn cash award of Rs 50,000 while the second and third position holders will collect a purse of Rs 30,000 and 20,000 respectively.
