ITANAGAR, July 13: In an effort to cut down the number of Marijuana (ganja) smokers, the Swach Bharat Abhiyaan team of Joram village destroyed all the Marijuana plants along the route from Yachuli to Joram top on Friday.

Speaking to this daily, the former ZPM of the Yachuli Joram Yaniya said that ganja plants are haphazardly seen along the way. Many times it has found that kids don’t attend classes and take to smoking ganja. In the meantime state general secretary of BJYM Joram Tat said that through the Abhiyaan an effort is on to send a message to the youths about the ill effect of ganja.

“Due to its availability and low price many youths are found smoking it. Not only in this particular area but all round the state youths are addicted to it, which is a sign of great threat to the society, Tat said.” He also sought help and support from all the villagers and the people of state and the administration in the war against the drugs and consumption of addictive substance.
