Film and TV Institute within 3 years, says Felix

Itagar, Dec 22: Setting up of Film and Television Institute got a further boost when a secretary level team of officers visited the proposed site of the institute at Jollang-Rakap on Monday. Principal Secretary, Home, Dharmandra Sharma, Principal Secretary, Fince, Satya Gopal accompanied by Secretary IPR, Som Chombay and Secretary Industries Shurbir Singh made assessment of the ground for construction of boundary pillar, an official communiqué informed here today.

Parliamentary Secretary IPR Bamang Felix, who is associated with the project since its announcement, informed that the state-of- art institute is expected to come up within three years. He also briefed the team that people of Jollang-Rakap have doted land measuring 200 acres for establishment of the Film and Television Institute.

A team from Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute Kolkata had earlier made prelimiry survey in September for preparation of Detailed Project Report. Meanwhile, SRFTI has submitted DPR to Ministry of I &B.

The local public leaders of Jollang-Rakap, who were present during the site visit, interacted with the team and assured their cooperation.
