Film best medium to fine tune the society: Tuki

ITAGAR, Sept 28: Film is the best media to change the mindset of a person and to fine tune the society, Chief Minister bam Tuki said here on Sunday during the closing ceremony of the three-day third Aruchal film festival-2015 at Sky Digital Cinema.

“The film fraternity and the department is in the right track and there will be no shortage of support from the Government in conducting the festival in a grandeur way in the days to come,” Tuki said while addressing the gathering.

“Aruchal Pradesh though late starter in its cinematic journey, is poised to compete in the tiol and intertiol levels in the coming days. Some of our film makers have already received tiol and intertiol recognitions and has created a new era in film making, he said to the thunderous applause of the audience.

The chief minister added that some of the youths have already entered the Bollywood in acting. Child prodigy Kymlsleen Kholie, celebrity and Kristi Bamang have already created a place for them by acting in several important Bollywood films, he added.

“With coming up of the Film and Television institute at Jote, the stage is being prepared for the entry of Aruchal Pradesh in the are of global cinema. Through this institute we will have skilled and trained youths in the field that would certainly change the face of Indian Cinema,” he said.

“The days are not far when our youths would have a positive and decorative career in film and television industries. We already have the tural scenery and the institute will add beauty and required skill and infrastructure to it and draw film maker from across the world,” he added.

He said that despite very thin population, the talented youths have already made the state proud by showing visible imprints of quality film in the tiol as well as intertiol silver screens.

 “We have good command in Hindi and English apart from our local indigenous dialects making us at proximity with the vast world. This is why; I say that Film has great potential in Aruchal Pradesh,” he added.  “With picture perfect landscape, distinct yet colourful tribes with vivid culture and dances, Aruchal Pradesh is the most ideal location to attract film making. Department of IPR will initiate talks with producers from Bollywood, Tollywood, Kollywood and also from the Hollywood to work out avenues of film shooting in the state. I am confident that, if we succeed in attracting one or two big films, we can compete the world with our unmatched potentials. But at the same time while doing so, we should also enrich and promote our rich culture and tradition,” he stressed.

Saying that films are one of the best means of educating the masses, Tuki observed that information on many of the Govt initiatives was not properly dissemited to the grassroots which has adverse impact on the implementation and also selection of genuine beneficiaries.
