Financial aid for Vaishnava Pandit Jugesh Atoi

Batadrava, June 17: The Assam government has provided a financial aid of Rs 50,000 for the treatment of Vaishnava Pandit Jugesh Atoi of Batadrava Than. Batadrava MLA Angoorlata Deka on Friday visited him in Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) where he is undergoing treatment, and handed over the cheque in the presence of Dr. Ramen Talukdar, Superintendent of GMCH, and Brajen Kakoti, general secretary of Batadrava Than Reception Committee. The financial aid was given from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Jugesh Atoi has been practising Xatrriya culture and ankiya naat and bhaona for several decades at Batadrava Than. The 80-year old Vaishnava Pandit is suffering from a liver problem.
