GOLAGHAT, April 23: The Mod Mukta Asom Dabi Samiti lodged an FIR at Dergaon Police station against illegal molasses businessmen Lalchand Agarwalla and Subhash Sahu of Rongamati in Golaghat district on Monday for illegally storing and selling of molasses for making local liquor (sulai). The secretary of Mod Mukta Asom Dabi Samiti, Rinkumoni Rajkhowa alleged that Lalchand Agarwalla and Subhash Sahu were illegally running the molasses business in Golaghat district. On Sunday, a group local people of Rongamati area and activists of Mod Mukti Asom Dabi Samiti gheraoed Lalchand Agarwalla’s molasses godown and blockaded NH-37 demanding ban on illegal sale of molasses and alcohol in Assam.
