MANGALDAI, March 27: Two unknown gunmen, riding a motor cycle, opened indiscrimite firing at a petrol depot on NH 15 near Aulachowka, 5 km west from here, wounding an employee. Manoj Patel, the injured employee, hails from Bihar. He was rushed to Mangaldai Civil Hospital and later was referred him to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital. The motive behind the firing is yet to be ascertained. In another incident, unknown miscreants this afternoon looted cash amounting to Rs 9 lakh from a vehicle at the Chilari Market of the district headquarter town. A contractor, Sadek Ali, withdrew the amount from the Mangaldai Branch of State Bank of India to pay it to businessman Dipam Kalita. Both the persons were discussing near the parked vehicle when an unknown teeger stched the amount that was kept inside the vehicle.
