First batch of Haj pilgrims leave for Mecca

Dibrugarh, July 17: The first batch of Haj pilgrims from Dibrugarh left for Mecca in Saudi Arabia recently. The group – consisting of 8 pilgrims – left for Guwahati via Brahmaputra Mail, from where it is expected to reach the Jeddah Airport, Saudi Arabia, on July 18. The pilgrims were felicitated and greeted by various well-wishers, who had gathered at the station to see them off. Before leaving, the pilgrims prayed for universal peace and especially, for peace and harmony in Dibrugarh. Earlier, the district administration facilitated basic training for the pilgrims by experienced trainers, and also arranged for their necessary vaccinations.
