First caesarian section delivery successfully conducted

SHILLONG, April 25: The first since the existence of Composite Hospital BSF, Shillong, April 22 was a significant day for the establishment as the first caesarian section delivery was successfully conducted at on Rajbir Kaur w/o CT/Dvr Amardeep Singh of 73 Bn BSF, a press release informed. The 28 year old housewife, a known patient of hypothyroidism and on thyroxine supplementation, has one girl child from previous caesarian section four years back with history of one miscarriage. Present child was postdated at 38 weeks + 4 days and an elective lower segment caesarian section was conducted by Dr. Shailinia Syiem duly assisted by other surgeon and anesthetist.
