Fisherman's body recovered at Gaurisagar

GAURISAGAR, April 24: The body of Kulai Das (30) a, fisherman and a resident of Ailahabi village nearby Bhatiapar on the outskirts of Gaurisagar under Joysagar Police outpost in Sivasagar district was recovered on Sunday morning from Zerenga Pather. According to sources, Das went out of his house on the evening of April 22 to catch fish in a boat but he did not come back.  The family members immediately lodged an FIR at Joysagar Police station about Das missing. On Sunday morning local people saw the body of Kulai Das floating on the water in Zerenga Pather and immediately informed Joysagar police outpost. Later, police recovered the body and sent it for postmortem to Sivasagar Civil Hospital. Local people said that lightning strike might be the cause of the fisherman’s death. He is survived by his wife and two children.
