Fishery department distributes materials to beneficiaries

KOKRAJHAR, June 8: The Department of Fishery, BTC, on Tuesday distributed bicycles and aluminum pots to total 80 beneficiaries at a ceremonial programme held at the department office premises in Kokrajhar. Total 19 beneficiaries in Kokrajhar, 51 in Udalguri, five each in Chirang and Baksa were distributed the materials. BTC Executive Member and in-charge of Fishery department, Shyam Shundi attended the programme as the chief guest and gave away the materials to the beneficiaries. Shundi said the department was making necessary steps to develop the department for the benefit of the farmers engaged in fishery. He also admitted departmental failure on various schemes undertaken by the council earlier. Officer in-charge of Fishery department, Arun Basumatary and other department officials were also present.
