Five-day training for adolescent groups concludes

DEMOW, Aug 8: The Department of Cultural Studies of Tezpur University in collaboration with UNICEF, Assam, organized a five-day training programme at Athabari Community Hall from August 4 for the students belonging to the adolescent groups regarding social welfare and awareness through their respective folk songs.

The adolescent groups composed eight folk songs on child marriage, child labour and school drop-outs. On Monday, which was the last of the training, 80 students who took part in the training were given certificate and a file. In the training programme, Sahnewaz Hussain, Principal Coorditor, UNICEF 3RD Phase Tezpur University, Deepjyoti Gogoi, Faculty of Department of Cultural Studies of Tezpur University, students of the Department of Cultural Studies of Tezpur University, Jadab Changmai, Assistant Teacher in Athabari High School, Sanjay Prasad Sah, president of Sopur Social Development Society, an NGO, along with the parents of the students were present.
