OUR STAFF CORRESPONDENT

SHILLONG, July 9: The FKJGP, Garo Hills Zone, expressed concern over the illegal transportation of goods being carried out by certain travel agencies through night liners. President of the FKJGP, Garo Hills Zone Pritam R Marak stated in a release that the FKJGP found during its inspection that the night bus services, which are exclusively passenger buses, have been ferrying goods meant for commercial purpose in bulks. “On enquiry it was unearthed that none of these buses has any goods carrier license; however the roof tops of these buses are always full of commercial goods belonging to different commercial establishments of Tura,” he said. In view of this, the FKJGP stated that since the government and the administration is not taking necessary steps, the FKJGP shall check these buses on their own and take necessary action.
