Flood fury affects Kaziranga tiol Park

BOKAKHAT, August 23:  The Brahmaputra has inundated nearly 33 forest camps of Kaziranga tiol Park (KNP). Burhapahar, Bagori, Kohora and Agaratoli forest range of KNP have been adversely affected by flood.

The department is ready to rescue flood-affected animals with four manual boats, four machine boats, six speed boats and three ships, said Swapan S Sharma, the DFO, Eastern Range. Moreover, manual boats in every forest camp are ready for use by forest guards. Special Guards have been deployed to look after the animals while crossing the NH-37. On the other hand, villages like Jugania , Chahala , Chaguri, Siljuri , Kakajuri , Missamoria and No-2 Parangania of Bokakhat Mouza too have been affected by the floods. A lot of crops have also been destroyed by the floods.
