Flood scerio in harkatia worsens

From a Correspondent

harkatia, July 27: Due to the incessant heavy rainfall in last few days, the rising water level of River Buridihing has already submerged several villages and paddy fields under harkatia Revenue Circle, compelling many affected people to take shelter in relief camps.

According to the information available here, villages like Bharaluwa Gaon under Sasoni Gaon Pnchayat, Dihing Kiner Bahbari Gaon under Dhadumia Gaon Panchayat, Dahal and Kalagara areas under Merbil Panchayat have been inundated by the flood making many families homeless.

Besides, the triggering motion of the River Buridihing would possibly create a new waterway through the village Jagun. Thus, viewing this alarming situation, the Water Resource Department of Assam has geared up to confront and tackle the devastating possibility. Several families of Jagun have already left their homes and moved to secure places.
