Flood situation remains unchanged in Dhubri

DHUBRI, July 14: Flood situation remain unchanged as more than 272 villages inundated affecting over 2 lakh people in Dhubri district. Three relief camps were opened in Bilasipara Circle while six engine-fitted boats have been pressed into operation to rescue the marooned people and a medical team consisting of para-medical staffs and doctors have also been on alert to meet any emergency situation. When asked, Extra Assistant Commissioner Jintu Bora informed that they were keeping a close watch on the level of water of the Brahmaputra and its tributaries.  

 “Brahmaputra river is flowing 84 cm above the danger level and remained stable since afternoon, while Gangadhar river is still flowing above the danger level with falling trend,” Bora added.
