Food safety drive against edibles continues in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, Sept 21: With a view to checking quality of milk, fishes coming from other states, fruits, vegetables, any edible items of hotels and restaurants and the like, a team of technical persons under Food Safety on Wheels (FSW) have been in Kokrajhar town from September 18 for a period of 5 days. In this connection, the District Food Safety Officer, Kokrajhar has requested the public concerned to cooperate with the officials during their operation in the district.

The Food Safety on Wheels (FSW), sponsored by the Food Safety & Standard Authority of India (FSSAI) which is being monitored by the Commissionerate of Food Safety, Government of Assam is underway in the public places, markets, towns, cities, among sellers and cosumers as a whole in the district.

The main purpose is to create public awareness by testing (on Instant Test) raw milk, milk products both liquid and powder, fishes coming from other states the sweets items of restaurants like misti, dohi, paneer, kalakan and other items like edible oil, salt, spices etc.

In this connection, the Food Safety Officer, Kokrajhar Bilifang Brahma has requested all the interested consumers and sellers to participate and get analysed their daily needs through the team’s technical support at any place of Kokrajhar and Gossaigaon town till September 22.
