Foreigners Tribunal court sends Golaghat woman Doly Roy to detention camp

GOLAGHAT: After receiving of order issued by the Foreigners Tribunal (FT), Jorhat against Doly Roy, a resident of Ward No. 4 of Golaghat town under Golaghat Police Station, Golaghat Police arrested her on Tuesday night and sent her to the detention camp in Jorhat.

As per report Doly Roy, wife of Sajit Roy whose parental resident is Bahori of Barpeta district, was declared as ‘D’ voter and a case was going on in Jorhat Foreigners Tribunal court since 2008.

The Foreigners Tribunal court, Jorhat sent her to the detention camp for 11 days. Doly Roy did not appear before the Foreigners Tribunal court on three dates. The Golaghat Police on Tuesday night brought her to the police station and on Wednesday police sent her to the detention camp. Talking to the media, Doly Roy said that she was listed as ‘D-voter’ since 2008 and a case was running in the Jorhat Foreigners Tribunal court. During proceedings various documents of her family members were examined and the court rejected the supporting documents that her family members had produced. Due to ill health she was unable to appear before the FT court on three dates which were determined by the court, she said.
