Forest guards bring back missing rhino

MORIGAON, Feb 21: After making an endless effort, the forest guards of Pobitora and Kurwa ranges on Sunday evening were able to bring back the rhino which was missing since Saturday night from the wildlife sanctuary. According to forest officials, the rhino was roaming in the Pobitora grazing reserve and idvertently came out from the sanctuary area and reached near Ganesh Mandir, situated near the River Brahmaputra that very night. The rhino took shelter at Ganesh Mandir char for the whole night. The next day, a team of forest guards reached near Ganesh Mandir char and carried out an operation to find out the rhino.  They left no stone unturned to catch the missing rhino in the char area. Later, the forest guards reached the spot where the rhino was roaming and rescued it. The rhino was brought near the Ganesh Mandir by a machine boat by the forest guards and later it was released in Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary.
