Formal distribution of free textbooks in Dibrugarh begins

Dibrugarh, Jan 7: Formal distribution of free textbooks for students of Class IX and Class X, organized by the office of the Inspector of Schools, Dibrugarh district, was started at a meeting held on Saturday at the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) auditorium.

The formal iuguration of the ambitious project was started with the distribution of free text books among 30 students of six schools of the district by Chakradhar Gogoi and Teros Gowala, MLAs of Moran and Duliajan LAC respectively.

Speaking at the meeting, presided over by Additiol Deputy Commissioner (Education), Ankur Bharali, Duliajan MLA Teros Gowala, while welcoming  the State Government’s steps of free distribution of text books to Class IX and Class X students, first of its kind in the State, said that the teachers had a well-defined role and responsibility towards making  a strong  academic atmosphere.

In the same tune of Gowala, Moran MLA Chakradhar Gogoi  in his deliberation hoped that such steps of the State Government would inspire the students in  their pursuit of learning with new spirit and zeal.

The distribution of free textbooks project will cover all total 145 government and provincialized schools of Dibrugarh district which will benefit at least 14,000 students of Class IX and Class X.

The meeting was attended, amongst others by District Inspector of Schools, Semi Yasin Ara  Rahman and ADC, Oim Saran Kumar Singh.
