Former AASU leader on hunger strike

JOYSAGAR, April 5: Former AASU leader and alumnus of the mti Swahid Peoli Phukan College, Sivasagar, Pravakar Phukan has been staging hunger strike since Wednesday in front of the SPP College, mti, demanding judicial probe into the alleged fincial anomalies which took place in college to the tune of Rs 97 lakh. The fund was provided to the college by UGC for infrastructure development. When the anomalies came to light, the UGC authorities stopped granting more funds to the college for which the overall development of the college was affected.
