Former acting Syiem of Hima Mylliem under scanner

SHILLONG, Jan 9: A few days after his appointment as acting Syiem of Hima Mylliem by the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), Aim Manik Syiem has alleged that around Rs 4 lakh is missing from the coffers of the office of Syiem of Mylliem.

Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, Syiem said, “After going through the cash book, it was found that the amount in the bank account of the office does not tally with the cash book.”

In this connection, the Syiem said that a letter will be sent to the KHADC to direct the former acting Syiem, Ricky Nelson Syiem, to return the missing amount of Rs 4 lakh.

Meanwhile, Myntri Robert S Kharlukhi has alleged that the former acting Syiem is yet to return the persol vehicle of the Syiem belonging to Hima Mylliem.

“He (Ricky) had written ‘Syiem of Hima Mylliem’ in the number plate of the vehicle, which is wrong because he is only an acting Syiem and the Hima does not have a full-fledged Syiem till now,” he explained.
