Former APCC president Anjan Dutta remembered

GAURISAGAR, June 18: Former Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president and veteran Congress leader Anjan Dutta was remembered at Gaurisagar Rajiv Bhavan on Saturday on the eve of his second death anniversary. The day-long programme started with lighting of earthen lamp at his samadhi by his elder daughter and APCC secretary Angkita Dutta. Biswa Kanta Baruah, former president of Gaurisagar Block Congress Committee, along with his Congress workers paid homage to their leader. Later a memorial meet was held at Rajiv Bhavan under the chairmanship of Suren Borah, president of Gaurisagar Block Congress Committee.

Addressing the meeting, Dambarudhar Duarah, former classmate of Anjan Dutta, said that Dutta was a courageous political leader who worked hard for the development of the society. Angkita Dutta said that she would try her best to fulfill her father’s dream for all-round development of Amguri LAC. On the other hand, Amguri Block Congress Committee also observed the second death anniversary of Anjan Dutta at the Amguri Block Congress Committee office.
