ITANAGAR: “After visiting various sectors, colonies, and villages of Itanagar, it has been found that the road connectivity and the quality of work executed are pathetic,” former Zilla Parishad Member (ZPM) of Borum Techi Tolu said. He also called for immediate measures to make the surroundings clean. Speaking to The Sentinel, Tolu said that many of the roads are not well connected as well as not maintained properly. At many villages and colony, the roads are cut off due to landslide and no proper drainage system.

As the monsoon season arrives lots of such problems are reported every day. The government should find a mechanism to tackle such situation permanently, he maintained. In the meantime, he also requested the people not to carry earth cutting during monsoon season too.

It is very sad to see garbage alongside the Karsingsa road. Our state is known for cleanliness and hygiene but many places present a sorry picture.

The department concerned should try to dump the garbage far from the city so that the public can breathe healthy air. Days are not far when the dumping ground will form a mountain of garbage and people residing nearby will suffer from many diseases.

“I want to request the department concerned and the state government to initiate immediate measures,” Tolu said.
