Former Assam Flying Club staff smell a rat

By our Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, May 13: The former employees of Assam Flying Club today appealed to the state government to take steps against some unholy people, who, according to them, are out to spoil the club.

Prabhat Doloi, who leads the former employees of the club, today alleged that a new group led by Bikrom Singha Lahakar is about to take control of the flying club, established in 1958, fraudulently.

Doloi said: "Lahakar was appointed as the secretary of the club in 2013 without any proper selection process. I  doubt if Lahakar has the requisite qualification for the post. However, with the blessings of Sports Commissioner Ajay Tiwary, he is rendering his service and hatching a conspiracy to take control of the funds of the club. Though his post was cancelled in 2014, he is working in the same post."
