Former CM Prafulla Kr Mahanta Denies Cordial Relationship with Other Political Parties, Anticipates Good Result by AGP in Panchayat Polls

Nagaon/Batadrava: At a time when the Political parties have geared up for the Panchayat polls after the announcement of the election date, former Chief Minister of Assam and MLA of Bahrampur constituency Prafulla Kumar Mahanta denies any such cordial relationship with any other political parties in the state.

Speaking to the media on Monday, former Chief Minister of Assam and MLA, Prafulla Kumar Mahanta further expressed Asom Gana Parishad's good result in the upcoming panchayat polls.

On the other hand, participating in a huge mass gathering at Garalia Bazar, Silpukhuri under Batadrava Constituency, Senior AGP leader & the State Water Resources Minister Keshab Mahanta said, "We will always stand against the Citizenship Amendment bill 2016. If the BJP government tries to pass the bill in the parliament we would break the alliance with State Government."

The meeting was held under the presidentship of Mamoni Borah, President of Batadrava AGP wing where Food and Civil Supply Minister Phanibhushan Chowdhury also took part and strongly criticized both the Congress and AIUDF party.

As per a report, at least 1000 people working for both Congress, AIUDF and other parties have formally joined AGP in the meeting today.
