Former Congress leader Pradyut Bordoloi submits nomination at Nagaon Deputy Commissioner's office

Nagaon: With the end of filing nomination for the second phase of general election to the Lok Sabha from Assam on Tuesday, Congress candidate for Nagaon Constituency Pradyut Bordoloi submits his nomination before the Returning officer and Deputy Commissioner Jadav Saikia.

Former Assam Minister and Congress candidate for Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency, Pradyut Bordoloi visited Batadrava Than today before filing his nomination.

Speaking to the media, Bordoloi said, "I came here to seek blessings of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev. Our party follows the philosophy and morals of Vaishnavite saint Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev."

Pradyut Bordoloi while submitting his nomination was joined by Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora, Rockybul Hussain, Gautam Borah, Ardhendu Dey, Edris Ali, Dr Durlav Chamuah, Junjunali Baruah and other supporters.

It is to be noted that Pradyut Bordoloi will fight against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s sitting MLA Rupak Sarmah for the Nagaon Lok Sabha seat.

The Nagaon parliamentary constituency covers Jagiroad, Morigaon, Laharighat, Raha, Barhampur, Jamunamukh, Hojai and Lumding and it goes to polls on April 18, 2019.
